Here is a quick shopping list of things you will need to clean your gun(s) effectively.

  1. Squeezable dropper bottles
    • Good for applying lubricants and copper removers
  2. Spray Bottle
    • Very useful for applying cleaners like Simple Green.
  3. 6 Pack of toothbrushes from Dollar Tree
    • Good for cleaning bolts and slides.
  4. Slip 2000
    • Good lubricant, non-toxic
    • There are lots of good lubricants out there, this is one that I have had good results with.
  5. Hoppes Elite Field Cleaner
    • Solid non-toxic cleaner
  6. Simple Green Extreme Aircraft and Precision Cleaner
    • Safe for Alumninum alloys and plastics and non-toxic
  7. Hoppes Copper Terminator
    • Good for removing copper fouling
    • Apply to a patch or boresnake with a dropper bottle
  8. TW-25B Grease
    • Grease is different from lubricant in that grease generally stays in one place while lubricant “splashes”.
    • Please consult your owner’s manual to see if grease or lubricant is recommended.
  9. Hoppes Bore Snake
    • This makes barrel cleaning a lot easier.
    • Wash them with soap and water by hand as opposed to using the washing machine
  10. Otis Cleaning Kit
    • Very handy and portable cleaning kit
