The last thing I even want to do is to have to possibly take a life, but if doing so protects myself or my family I will do what is needed. While I respect someone who has made a conscious decision to avoid violence under any circumstances, I would appreciate it if they would offer me the same respect concerning my choice to be more proactive.
I would also remind them of the words of the 14th Dalai Lama, who said in an interview “If someone has a gun and is trying to kill you, it would be reasonable to shoot back with your own gun”
